What was your motivation?
What motivated me to start losing weight was my cousin. She started her journey last year.
In 2018, my starting weight was 329 pounds (current weight: 207 pounds). I wasn’t really trying to take control of my weight. However, 2021 came and went, and I got tired of making excuses for myself. I said enough was enough!
In November 2022, I slowly started walking for 30 minutes five days a week. Walking was my therapy. The next thing I knew, I was walking for 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the pounds were falling off.
How did you change your eating habits?
I went cold turkey, believe it or not. I started eating baked foods, such as chicken and fish with vegetables. I cut out fast foods altogether, along with sugary snacks. I eat a lot of fruit for snacks and drink a lot of water. I eat oatmeal for breakfast.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice for anyone who wants to lose weight is take it one day at a time. It’s not a race that you can’t lose however you will WIN!!!
If you fall get back up and start over! We didn’t gain this weight overnight and we won’t lose it overnight. Don’t beat yourself up when you don’t see the scale move. You will notice changes in your clothes first like I did.
And remember to be kind to yourself and love yourself. There’s only one of you!
