What was your motivation?
My motivation was I wanted clothes to look great on my body that weren’t in the double digits. I liked the way I felt, losing weight and having more energy.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
What inspired me to keep going was the results I was seeing and having more energy. I liked the way I felt and no longer felt tired all the time.
How did you change your eating habits? After taking the Everylwell food sensitivity test, seeing the results helped me change what I was eating from the results. I stopped eating all foods that showed up on my food sensitivity test; almonds, cashews, mushrooms, brewery yeast, dairy, chicken, ginger, garlic, onions, black tea, eggs, oats, cayenne pepper, cocoa, curry, casein, vanilla, green peas, and oregano. Also, I now pay attention to whether I am chewing my food until it is liquid and if the food causes bloating, swelling, or gas.
What is your workout routine?
I do ab exercises, boxing, weight lifting, and cardio, such as Spin, walking, and elliptical.
How often did you work out?
Three to five days a week.
What was your starting weight?
193 pounds
What is your current weight?
157 pounds
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
When did you start your journey?
My journey began in 2019 after I returned from a retreat from Bali, healed from past trauma. The host mentioned doing a food sensitivity and intolerance test. I completed the test in November 2019. The foods that came up on my test were foods I was eating on a regular basis. I was frustrated before I took the test, wondering why I wasn’t losing weight because I was working out 3 to 5 days a week.
After the test, I cut out everything on my food sensitivity results. Within two weeks, I dropped 12 pounds, which was inflammation that was showing up as weight.
How long did your transformation take?
The transformation continued after that first two weeks, and now it’s been three ½-years.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that some types of healthy proteins are not for everyone. Also, mindset and nutrition are 80%, and fitness is 20%. You cannot outwork the unhealthy foods you are eating.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
The advice I have is to heal from your past traumas. If you are eating healthy and working out regularly but still not losing weight, look at the foods you are eating because they may be causing inflammation that shows up as weight. I recommend a food sensitivity and intolerance test.
