What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My son and husband. I lost my mom in 2016, and I know firsthand how that void feels. So I don’t want to leave them any time soon.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my diet completely. I no longer drink juice. That was my biggest problem. Also, I incorporated a lot more fruits and veggies into my diet.
How often did you work out?
I work out five days a week.
What is your workout routine?
I have a trainer who I train with two times a week. For the other three days, I walk in my neighborhood.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 238 pounds, and now I weigh 177 pounds.

I started my journey on January 4, 2022, and I’m still going.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Slow down and think and process what you are eating before you eat.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Start somewhere. We all have to take it one meal at a time and one day at a time.
