Update 2019: Krysta has kept the weight off! Maintenance is the real battle.
Transformation of the Day: Krysta has gone from a size 22/24 to a size 10/12 and lost more than 100 pounds. She lost her mother at a young age and didnโt want that future for her children. Becoming a Vegan, getting out of a toxic relationship and working out 5 days a week really worked for her. Check out her journey.
Iโve been overweight most of my life, from childhood into adulthood. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 14 years old and my weight steadily increased over the years. After becoming a mom and going through an extremely toxic relationship, my weight was at the highest point ever.
I lost my mother to heart disease at the age of 20 and I didnโt want my children growing up with a sick, depressed, obese mother, or worseโฆ no mom at all. So, I began to take my goals seriously. I left that toxic relationship that wasnโt doing me any good and I got to work. I officially started my weight loss journey in March of 2017, making a serious effort to lose weight and change my lifestyle.
I wanted to transform myself physically, mentally and spiritually. Initially, I experimented with different โdietsโ in an attempt to discover which would be best for me. In August 2017, I began researching plant based diets and found the website โHow Not to Dieโ, which is associated with the book of the same name. I was inspired and motivated to become a Vegan and I havenโt looked back since. I stopped eating meat, poultry, fish and dairy.
Today, Iโve changed my lifestyle completely by choosing to go vegan and working out 5 days a week. I havenโt reached my ultimate goal but I am well on my way! Iโve lost over 100 pounds so far and counting. Iโve dropped 6 dress sizes, going from a size 22/24 to a size 10/12.
The journey is not easy. Changing your entire lifestyle can be an extreme shock mentally. However, if you keep working on yourself, stay dedicated to your journey and remain consistent, you WILL achieve your goals.
