Weight Loss Story of the Day: Kimberly lost 37 pounds. He story shows that sometimes doing the emotional work of dealing with your issues and problems in your life is just as important as diet and exercise. Here is what she shared with us:
I was always thin from childhood all the way up to my teen years, but after having a child in my teens I began to pick up weight, almost 100 pounds. After that I continued to pack on the pounds. I tried a number of things to lose weight; seeing countless diet doctors, trying diet fads, joining weight loss centers, and numerous diet pills. It was not until 2011, after losing my job, that I really came to the realization that I was huge and that weight was threatening my life. I read an article that stated being overweight can cause cancer cells and other diseases to activate. I also found out that I was depressed and had not let go of some personal issues dealing with family and relationships. After dealing with many of my issues I came to a personal realization that if I don’t do something now life is going to pass me by.
I decided to start my weight loss journey in December 2012 and I have had some pitfalls along the way but I keep getting back up with my gloves on ready to fight. My heaviest was 315 pounds and now I am 278 pounds and still going. I accomplished this with exercise and dedication. I am now changing my eating habits to work harder at achieving my short term goal of 23 more pounds. I’m so excited. I also entered a Bikini challenge at a local gym in January, that challenges me to do my best. Ladies remember you can do it!

Its a daily battle, however, worth the reward. Let’s always remind ourselves what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I lost 50lbs and have another 30lbs to lose. I get discouraged at times but I do know I will never go back to where I used to be! @ Janet thank you for sharing your story as I was truly inspired.
