Transformation of the Day: Kimberly lost 36 pounds. Hearing people say that the body starts to break down and our metabolisms get slower as we age motivated her to take action. She leaned on faith and found an online training program that provided the guidance she needed. Check out her journey.

What was your motivation?
I knew I was getting more “seasoned” with age. I began to hear people say that as I get older, my metabolism will slow down, and the body will start to deteriorate. I do not want that to be “my story” and don’t intend for it to be. I knew I have to take charge “now” because I desire to be in the best shape of my life. One of my goals is to lose the excess pounds. I want to be healthy, fit, firm, muscular, and more comfortable in the skin I’m in. As for my metabolism, I’m confessing that as I get more “seasoned” it will remain fast.
What inspired you to start your weight loss journey?
I was disappointed with myself after re-gaining weight I had previously lost, plus more. Over two and a half years, I experienced weight gain after recuperating from uterine fibroid surgery. My doctor told me that I have to avoid strenuous activities and avoid lifting anything that would make me strain for 4-6 weeks. I was told that picking up a laundry basket and sweeping with a broom could be too much for me at that time. So, my exercise regimen decreased, and my intake of junk food and fast food gradually increased.
In January 2019, when I stepped on the scale, I was at my heaviest weight ever. I needed help! I prayed to God, who previously supplied me with various resources and assistance to help me conquer the battle of the bulge. After I prayed, He answered and said, “I’ve ALREADY given you the tools to get to the goal. It’s up to you to UTILIZE them.” I thought to myself, “Did God just tell me off?” Yes, He did, and He was absolutely right! This was the turning point for me.
How did you change your eating habits?
Nutritionist Guru, from the Fitness On Fire Online Training Program, is one of the resources God led me to. She put me on a personalized eating plan.
I cut out red meat, fried foods, fast foods, and sugary products. I began to eat more protein, fiber, fruits, and vegetables. Chicken, turkey, fish, and lots of baked sweet potatoes were a constant part of my meals. Two products that are my absolute go-to treats are Love Crunch premium organic granola by Nature’s Path and frozen Greek yogurt bars and pints by Yasso. I love them!
Now, I drink more water, choose healthier snacks, and I pay close attention to the nutritional facts listed on products and restaurant menus. To help me stay on track with what I consume, I often use My Fitness Pal. Also, I purchased a meal prep bag that I keep fully stocked with meals and snacks.
What did your workout consist of?
King of the Fire from Fitness on Fire is my trainer, and he has me doing resistance training for now. I joined 10 Fitness gym here in Arkansas and have become quite a “beast”. I spend anywhere from 1-1.5 hours in the gym almost daily. YouTube has a few playlists which I listen to on my headset. I move to the beat and skip around to find a variety of more upbeat, fast-paced songs.
How long did your transformation take?
I started seeing results in exactly 2 months with the program. I looked at a picture of myself taken this year in January and compared it to one I took in April. After my mouth dropped, I put the biggest grin on my face. Over the years, I had seen many amazing transformations from women achieving great success with Fitness On Fire Online Training Program.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Surround yourself with the ‘before & after’ images and success stories of those who have accomplished what you intend to do. (I have clicked through many testimonials on BlackWeightLossSuccess.com.) Imagine yourself being one of those success stories. (That’s what I did.) Next, clear your mind of the word “can’t.” You “can” do anything you set your mind to. Allow God to be the center of your focus and let Him help you. Take advantage of the resources you have, whether it is a gym membership, a training program, or even a workout DVD. Plan out your strategy and work your plan. Often times, your plan will work if you don’t quit, and you remain diligent. I always have to remind myself to stay the course because “diligence produces results.”
