Kie lost 24 pounds. After giving birth to her second child, she struggled to lose weight. With her children as her motivation, she started making healthy lifestyle changes in October 2019.
I have lost 24 pounds so far. Though my progress has been slow progress, it is still progress. Six months after my second son’s birth, I gained 40 pounds fairly quickly. It has been a challenge to drop. I kept most of the weight on until October 2019 when I started to notice some minor changes. My starting weight was 241 pounds, and in February 2020, I weighed 226 pounds. By May 21, 2020, I weighed 217 pounds. My current weight is 217 pounds.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My kids inspire me. Also, I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in March 2020, so I’m motivated to improve my health. I want to be healthy and around for my children’s growth and development.
How did you change your eating habits?
I recently cut out sugar and used portion control. I also cut out chips, takeout/delivery, and fast food. I love eating chips and snacks, but for obvious reasons, I had to stop. Also, Carbs are not my friend. I started making cucumber tuna sandwiches instead of using bread.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My work out consisted of walking every other day at a local park.
How often did you workout?
Almost every two days.
What is your height?
5’6″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned to be patient with myself.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Don’t be hard on yourself on your journey to wellness and weight loss. Slow progression is still progression.
