Update Dec 2016: Kerry is still getting results by being Vegan and working out regularly. She is down 98 pounds.
In July 2016, I weighed 151 pounds and now I’m down to 148 pounds (as of 11/ 29/16). Oh my vegan life! Going vegan is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle filled with compassion, dedication, and discipline. You get some health benefits from saving our fur babies. Going vegan was the best choice I ever made. I feel so much healthier and much happier with myself because I know that I am saving the animals and gaining a brand new me.
Advice: I want to encourage you to set goals and achieve them. If I can do this, you can do it too. Remember, inch by inch… one pound at a time. You’re the only one stopping you. Push yourself. Don’t beat yourself up when the scale doesn’t show you the numbers you were expecting. Remember, inches lost count too.
Cut out eating junk food and start eating more fruits and vegetables. Don’t put off your workout days. Stick to them and stay committed. Also, you can start shopping for the clothes that are the size you want to be as motivation. If you’re a XXL or XL and you want to be in a large, medium or small, buy something in that size and use it as your target. You will be surprised how much this pushes you. It did for me.

July 2016 – Transformation of the Day: Kerry lost 95 pounds. She was inspired by the people around her who were working to stay fit and healthy. Once she realized how the animals she was eating were treated, she decided to go vegan, and that choice helped her to lose more pounds. Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
In June of last year, I weighed 248 pounds. I lost some weight and I was down to 178 pounds. Then I started struggling and fell back in to not eating right and not working out. My weight went back up to 260 pounds. I got my act together, start working out and eating healthy again. I went vegan after I realized how the animals are being treated and how sick I was whenever I would eat meat or have any dairy products. I’ve been vegan for 6 months, and I am happy to say that I am down to 153 pounds. I am proud of myself for not giving up on me and for going vegan for good. #veganstrong
What motivated me was that my husband was in good shape. I said to myself, “Hold up I am the woman. I should be looking good too.” I knew I was overweight and I was not happy with myself. I would see people running in the morning, and I was like, “That should be me.” I saw this lady who was much bigger than me almost every morning walking and later on she was running. I would cheer her on and kept admiring her while she was shrinking right in front of me. I told myself, “That’s it. I am done.”
I started juicing and working out. I was lifting weights a little, but most of all I began walking and running 3-4 days a week. I gave up fried foods, sodas, pasta, chips, and beer. I started to eat more fruits and vegetables. I had baked potatoes instead of fries, water, and hot tea instead of soda, etc. Then I was introduced to the vegan lifestyle. I said, “Why not? I get sick anyway when I eat meat.” Plus, I didn’t like how the animals who would be my food were being treated. I gave up eating meat and dairy products, and I was amazed to see how much more weight I loss after going vegan. I also I drink apple cider vinegar twice a day which helps to lose the weight off my mid section.
My advice to others who want to lose weight: Find your whys, your reasons and go for it. On days when you don’t feel like working out, go back to your whys and reasons. I had a brand new dress that I brought, and I wanted to wear it so badly for my birthday. However, I never got the chance to wear it because it didn’t fit at the time. I was so disappointed in myself, but that pushed me harder. I told myself last year in June that by November I was going fit in that dress. I keep trying on the dress and every time I tried I could almost fit in it. I started lifting, doing sit ups, jump roping and doing light cardio. I was so happy when I tried on my dress in November because it fit so well. Hubby couldn’t keep his hands off me and just kept looking at me. I was smiling from ear to ear. I was so proud of myself.
