Transformation of the Day: Kenyata lost 81 pounds. After struggling for a lifetime and making several attempts to release the weight, she decided to have VSG surgery. By adopting healthy eating habits and making time for fitness, she is achieving her goals.
I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Finally, after numerous attempts at dieting, I decided to take control of my life. In March 2021, I had VSG surgery [Gastric Sleeve], which is one of the best decisions I’ve made thus far.
The surgery is a tool. I still have to do the work, and I’m dedicated to reaching my fitness and overall health goals. I have lost a total of 81 pounds, and I’m down six sizes in jeans.
What was your motivation?
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? My five-year-old is my fuel. My goal is to give her the best and healthiest version of me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I have adopted the keto lifestyle, and I drink half a gallon of water every day. My keto meal plan is high in fat and low in carbs.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out 4 to 5 times a week. I mainly do cardio, but I recently began doing strength training using weights.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started this journey at 275 pounds, and I currently weigh 194 pounds and losing!
What is your height?
I am 5’2″.
When did you start your journey?
I started this journey in December 2020.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
There is no easy route. That has been my biggest lesson. You have to do the work, which means working out and making the healthiest of food choices for your body.
