Kenya lost 50 pounds. In September 2018, she decided to restart her efforts to release the weight, and she was determined not to give up this time. She educated herself on nutrition and worked out 6 days a week to get these results. Check out her story.
When did you start your journey?
I started on September 4, 2018. I have been on this healthy lifestyle journey on and off for several years. However, in 2018 I decided to jumpstart my weight loss again and not give up. (No surgery was involved.)
What was your motivation?
My motivation was that I didn’t want to weigh 300lbs, and at the time I weighed 298 pounds. I kept telling myself, “If I give up, I will only be back where I started.” So, I kept pushing.
What motivates me now is how being healthy makes me feel. Today, I am definitely happier. Self-love is the best love!! Anything is possible!
How did you change your eating and exercise habits?
I changed my eating habits, and I worked out 6 days a week. Staying consistent has truly changed me.
I learned all about my body and calories. I ate fruit, I ate vegetables and only drank water. I learned what a full, balanced diet consists. I use Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram to help me with meal ideas.
I work out 6 days a week. On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, I do strength training with weights. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I dance and do cardio.
Starting weight/Current weight?
My starting weight was 298 pounds, and my current weight is 248 pounds. I’m am 5’7″. My goal is to lose a total of 70 pounds, and I’m not stopping until I reach my goal.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Biggest lesson I have learned is that everyone’s body is different. No matter what diet or lifestyle you choose to do, do it well!! Trust the process and drink plenty of water!
