Transformation of the Day: Kendra lost 50 pounds. Two years ago, her life changed at a doctor’s appointment. She learned that her blood pressure was so high she could have suffered a stroke at any moment. She improved her eating habits, embraced fitness, and learned to enjoy the journey.
What was your motivation?
I remember going to the doctor about two years ago. During the visit, I found out my blood pressure was at stroke level. I felt fine, but the doctor told me I could’ve had a stroke at any moment. That was a wake-up call for me. I changed my diet, exercised, and took my medication.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by preparing my food in advance for the week. I stayed away from fried foods and sweets, but I still had cheat meals.
How often do you workout?
I usually workout about 3-4 days a week, but now I’m trying to tone up.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I started doing mostly cardio in the beginning, treadmill, elliptical, walking. Now I’m doing more lifting to tone up.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 260 pounds, and now I weigh 210 pounds. My goal weight is about 195 pounds. I plan to continue to live a healthy lifestyle.

I started my journey about two years ago and lost 50 pounds, slow and steady.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to enjoy my journey and go at my own pace.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice regarding weight loss is to work at your own pace and stay consistent.
