My name is Keisha! I am a 38-year-old wife and mother of three. I wanted to become a happier and healthier version of myself and lead by example for my family. Seeing and feeling the positive results of my hard work definitely motivated me to stay the course.
I lost 75-80 pounds in one year! (My weight fluctuates.) I lost weight by working out daily. I also went on a low-carb diet and practiced intermittent fasting. A huge motivating factor for me was following health and fitness pages like Black Women Losing Weight!
How did you change your eating habits?
When I did intermittent fasting, it was mainly on a 16/8 schedule. I would eat between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM. When I did Keto, I honestly didn’t count carbs. I just stayed away from them as much as possible.
I’m currently eating a balanced diet and just doing my best to practice portion control.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workout routine consists of cardio and strength training. I mostly do at-home workouts.
What is your height?
I’m 5 feet tall.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ve been on my weight loss journey from July 2020 to the present. It’s been about a year since I’ve been on my journey consistently, and I’m still a work in progress.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, weight loss surgery was not a part of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
During this journey, I’ve learned that all days don’t look the same. Some days will be better than others. It’s okay to take a break, just don’t quit!
