Transformation of the Day: Kathleen lost 20 pounds by practicing intermittent fasting, juicing, and lifting heavy. She is determined to be the best version of herself and give herself more; more self-love, peace, and happiness.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was not happy with myself or my reflection in the mirror. I knew that I was not the best version of myself. I decided that I was going to be the best that I could be.
What inspired me to keep going even when I wanted to give up was that nagging feeling like there was more for me; more self-love, more happiness, more peace. I wasn’t going to stop until I got there.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started drinking more water, and I cut out red meat and pork. Juicing is also part of my routine.
My goal is to fast for 17 hours daily, following a 17/7 intermittent fasting schedule. Ideally, I have my last meal at 7 pm, and I don’t eat again until noon.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I am a runner (when the weather permits). I also lift heavy weights (barbell back squats, deadlifts, power cleans, and presses). I also love Yin Yoga.
How often did you work out?
My goal was to work out 4-5 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 165 pounds. My current weight fluctuates between 140-145 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started intermittent fasting in July 2018. The final transformation happened a year later, in July 2019.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Intermittent fasting is THE best way to change your health, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Start intermittent fasting. It is THE game changer.
