Transformation of the Day: Kandace lost 54 pounds. This mom felt sick and tired all the time. She knew that it was time to take back her health and show herself some love. Over the course of 3 years, she has figured out what works for her. Check out how she did it.
I had been struggling with my weight since 2014! I am so happy to say that my starting weight was 198 pounds, but I now weigh 144 pounds. I went from 198 pounds to 160 pounds in about two months. I feel healthier and more confident!
What was your motivation?
My motivation was I that regularly felt sick and tired and sometimes didn’t feel like spending time with my daughter. I love body conscious dresses, but I looked horrible in them. When I wanted to give up on the process, I just knew that I just couldn’t. I knew that my health and family’s wellbeing depended on me changing my lifestyle.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits changed tremendously and I’m conscious of what I’m eating. I don’t drink sodas or eat any form of junk food. I eat fruit and salads all day long and for dinner I eat a regular meal. I’m about to become a Vegan. I also drink water all day long.
What did your exercise routine look like?
I walked three miles for about two days a week. Then, in December 2016, I noticed that my stomach would not go down and the weight was creeping back on. So, I joined the gym. I got on the bicycle and treadmill every time I got a chance. I also used the ab machine. I do squats, jumping jacks, leg exercises, etc.
How long did your journey take?
My transformation was off and on over the course of three years. The mistake I made was not being consistent, but now I’m giving my all everyday.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
You have to stay consistent. The weight is hard to get off, but easy to put on! Self love is the key!
