Kam lost 30 pounds. At 41 years old, she noticed that many people her age were dying due to health issues, and she didn’t want to take her good health for granted. Working out four days a week and drinking meal replacement protein shakes are two of the ways she has changed her life.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was honestly God’s grace. I’ve been overweight my whole life (I’m 41 years old). One day I noticed all these people my age were dying of health problems. Thankfully, although I’m obese, I don’t have health issues. I no longer want to take that fact for granted, so I decided to take care of my body. I want to live as long as possible.
How did you change your eating habits?
Five days a week, I drink protein shakes (Slimfast) for breakfast and lunch and have a low carb meal for dinner. I don’t drink pop or juice, water only. I have cheat days on the weekend.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workout routine consists of going to the gym four times a week. I do 30 minutes of cardio on a treadmill, 3 reps of 10 on the ab machine, and shoulder press for 4 reps of 10.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 342 pounds. My current weight is 312 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’10”.
When did you start your journey?

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned so far that some days you will be messy but don’t stop moving.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
