Hello, My Name is Kagean L. I have been on my weight loss journey since the middle of July 2016. What motivated me to lose weight was that I got tired of not being able to fit cute clothes. Also, I was regularly having knee problems and back problems.
When I felt like giving up I would always tell myself, “Think about why you started.” I changed my eating habits by cutting out starches and foods with a lot of sugars. I also stopped drinking soda because that was my biggest downfall. I was never a vegetable and fruit person in the past, but once I started eating them I found myself loving them. I would eat a lot of food with protein such as tuna, shrimp, etc. because it kept me full for long periods of time.
I woke up every morning around 8 a.m and did my daily walk/run. Each week, I would challenge myself to go an extra mile. Now, I’m at up to doing 6 miles a day… sometimes even 7.
My starting weight was 254 pounds and now I’m down to 220 pounds. My goal weight is 175 pounds. I’m going to continue to push myself until I get there. My advice to those who want to lose weight is to go for it. Never give up. Just remember the reason why you want you reach your goals.
