Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Justice lost 57 pounds in 6 months, inspired by the weight loss success stories of others. She dealt with her emotional eating and worked out regularly to get results. Here is what she shared with us…
My name is Justice Hooks. I would like to share my weight loss journey because only God knows that the motivation I received from other people’s journeys is what pushed me to want a healthy lifestyle. Their stories encouraged me to not give up on my journey. I look at other people’s success stories everyday for support and to keep my mind in the game.
Sometime in August 2014, I looked at myself in the mirror and knew that something needed to change. I was an emotional eater who ate when I was happy, sad, or stressed. Now, I’ve learned to eat for fuel and nutrition. I changed my eating habits by eating more fruits, vegetables, and great sources of protein. I cut out juice and soda from my diet and now I drink only water (64-138 oz per day).
I started out by working out 3 times per week because of my busy schedule with work and school. I would do workout DVD’s in the morning before work. When I had more time during my second semester of school this year, I made a promise to myself that I would workout at least 5 days a week.
I started my journey at 250 pounds and I have lost 57 pounds within 6 months. I now weigh 193 pounds at a height of 5’3″ tall. My advice to others trying to lose weight is to do it for you! Make your health a priority and be consistent, because consistency is key. In order to change your lifestyle you have to first change your mindset. Anything is possible with consistent effort.
