What was my motivation?
I lost a little over 100 pounds, and I’m glad to share my weight loss story. What motivated me was getting healthy, and looking and feeling better in my skin. However, my biggest motivation was my kids. I want to live a long, healthy life with them.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out sugar, junk foods, soda, and juices. I just drank water and green tea strictly. Snacking was my major problem, and I realized I had to stop. So I started eating more greens (salads and veggies) with lots of protein.
What is your workout routine?
When I first started my journey, I started doing home workouts. By doing that, I lost about 40 pounds in about four months. Then I started the gym to tone up. After a few months at the gym, I went back to cardio. So I basically alternated my routine.
How often did you work out?
I worked out 4 to 5 times a week.
What was your starting weight?
My starting weight was around 350 pounds.
What is your current weight?
My current weight is 250 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’7″.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in September 2020. I lost the majority of my weight in a year’s time.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I did not have any surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency is key! Learning self-discipline is also key!
I learned that whatever you put your mind to, you can do it. I would have never thought I could do this, knowing that I tried a few years back and failed. However, this time I had enough. I’m glad God gave me the strength to push through with perseverance!
What advice would you like to share?
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it or it will be too hard. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! Yes, it may seem difficult initially, but you must keep pushing and believing you can. Set a goal and go for it. Even if you fall, get back up and keep pushing.
