Transformation of the Day: Jovanna lost 82 pounds by walking and adopting a low-carb lifestyle. Her goal was to focus on her health for the good of her family. Now she can be more active with her children and do things with them like jumping on a trampoline.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was my health and family. At the time, I struggled with my blood pressure, low potassium, and simply not feeling well. I was motivated by my family because I wanted to be able to get healthier and hopefully be around longer for them.
How did you change your eating habits?
I have been doing a low-carb diet. I eat my three meals and have a snack in between each meal. I do this along with taking Iaso Tea, an organic tea that helps detox your body and eliminate toxins in your system.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
The first two months, I didn’t work out at all. Two months later, I started walking five times a week for 30 minutes, and I continue to do that now.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 286 pounds, and my current weight is 204 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in October 2020, and it’s been six months so far.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
N/A
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that I am capable of so much. I learned to appreciate the “little” things, like being able to run outside with your kids or jump on the trampoline with them. I’ve also learned that if you set your mind to something, you can achieve it. I learned that being patient (trusting the process) and consistent will get you very far.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My best advice is to believe in yourself. Also, take time to get mentally prepared by coming up with a plan. Brainstorm some of the things you did in the past that didn’t work. Find solutions to the obstacles that may come along the journey.
Always stay positive, and push through even when you feel like giving up.
