Jessica lost 36 pounds by figuring out what eating habits work for her and working out 3-4 times a week. She was tired of making excuses and just wanted to feel good in her skin.
What was your motivation?
My motivation to lose weight came from wanting to feel good in my skin again. I was tired of making excuses for myself, and feeling disappointed about the way I looked. I decided to take the initiative and do something about it!
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by cutting fast foods and juice/pop! I then started controlling my carbohydrate portion sizes. I didn’t entirely cut out carbs because carbs are really good for you. I started minimizing my carb consumption per meal and adding a lot of proteins and veggies to fill me up instead.
What is your workout routine?
I took walks almost every morning and worked out about 3-4 times a week. My workout routine consisted of a lot of HIIT workouts, and some days when I’d focus on specific muscle groups.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
When I started, I was at 186 pounds. Being 5’3″, that type of weight really shows on your body. I am very happy to be sitting at 150 pounds now (36 pounds down)!
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey about two years ago, and I can’t believe how far I’ve come! People started noticing my weight loss maybe a year into my journey.
What advice would you like to share?
Find happiness in the process and in the excitement of what’s to come. This journey is so personal, and it’s all about you! Don’t beat yourself up and don’t look at other people’s bodies wishing yours looked the same. Fall in love with your body at every stage of the journey.
