Weight Loss Story: Jennifer lost 25 pounds and went from a size 22 to a size 16. She was inspired to change her life so that she would live a full life and be here to see her sons thrive. Here is what she shared with us about how she lost the weight…
My name is Jennifer Mathis from Vaiden, Ms. I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. At my heaviest, I weighed 245 pounds. Currently, I weigh 220 pounds (height: 5’6″ tall), but I’ve also lost numerous inches. I went from a size 22w to a size 16 from July 2014 to February of 2015. I still have a long way to go with my weight, but I am extremely happy about my progress thus far!
I work out 4 to 5 days per week. My workouts consist of at least 1 hour of cardio, whether it’s SPIN CLASS or the treadmill at 15% incline. I have also incorporated weight training at least 3 times per week.
My diet consists of high fiber, like bran and vegetables. To be honest, I am still a work in progress when it comes to my diet, but I am making conscious decisions when it pertains to my diet. I grew up in Mississippi. My mother taught her daughters how to cook and how to cook WELL! I have had to learn how to streamline my recipes and still make them tasty!
My motivation is my family, I want to be here to see my boys become young men and begin their families.
I want to be here for them. I want to meet my daughter in laws and grandchildren when that time comes.
My advice? Consistency. Stay at it, even when you don’t see results! Hold yourself accountable and surround yourself with people of like mind. After a few weeks, you’re not going to want to miss a gym session!

Keep up the good work. I want to get down the pounds without losing my curves and we are shaped exactly alike. 20lbs makes a big difference. I’m down 15 at 235 and if i can get under 200 im cool but i want to stay shapely,
