Weight Loss Story of the Day: Jennifer lost 24 pounds. She changed her eating habits and started working out on a regular basis so that she could be more active in her son’s life. Read more about her journey…
My motivation was I wanted to be an active member of my son’s life not a bystander. I didn’t want to feel bad about my body anymore. My inspiration is my son, and reading about how other woman who have transformed their bodies. I’m so glad I decided to change my life. I still have ways to go but I’m happy that I’m finally headed in right direction for real this time.
The changes I made to my diet were that I stopped eating most processed foods and added green smoothies to my diet. I also stopped giving up every time I had a slip up. I try to be consistent by tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal.
I work out four to five times per week for 35-45 minutes during my lunch break doing cardio and I use the step counter on my phone to make sure I get at least 10000 steps in daily. I meet with a personal trainer at Blink Fitness in Chelsea NY at least once per week for weight training.
My starting weight was 246 pounds and my current weight is 222 pounds. I started taking my journey seriously in May 2014 shortly after my 28th birthday. I don’t focus so much on the scale as much as inches lost and clothes fitting better. My focus for the upcoming year to is to add in a morning workout at home and to become more comfortable with weight training.
I would advise anyone that wants to get healthier to just keep going. I still have a long way to go but I feel way better about myself since I’ve committed to a healthier lifestyle. I have bad days, but I haven’t completely quit since 5/8/2014. That was the one rule I gave myself this time: Do not give up.
