Jasmine lost 25 pounds by exercising and doing a relaxed version of Keto. She realized that she was the only thing standing in the way of her reaching her health goals. Check out her story.
Starting weight: 191 pounds
Current weight: 166 pounds
Goal weight: With child
I’m not finished yet, but I’m well on my way!
What was your motivation?
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with myself for so long. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been losing weight just to gain it all back (plus some) back. I had unhealthy habits, stressors, and feelings of self-doubt, which would draw me back into old ways and leave me back to where I started. It wasn’t until recently, after binge-watching a season of Revenge Body, that I realized I was the only thing standing in my way. I made a commitment to myself while watching another woman’s reveal that I can, and I will make it happen for me.
Also, I’ve been struggling trying to conceive – losing babies, and left heart broken. To make it worse, doctors have found ZERO reasons for my issues. I’m convinced that it’s because of the weight and my short build. However, I’ll never know until I get it off, right?
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut down on carbs tremendously, eating less than 28g of carbs per day. I stuck to a slightly relaxed version of Keto. I don’t strictly plan out my meals. Instead, I focus on eating for my health and not out of habit.
What did your workout routine consist of?
Whew, working out is the easy part! I love incorporating a variety of workouts into my routine including Pilates, yoga, strength training, and CrossFit. I find that when I experiment with new routines, I discover new ways to keep it creative and never get bored.
How often do you workout?
I work out 4-5 days a week.
What is your height?
5’2”
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
My journey started many years ago, but I finally started to make a real impact on my healthy lifestyle beginning on July 15, 2019.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I learned was the realization that the reward I felt on the inside was worth so much more than what a mirror could ever reflect. Feeling healthy and beautiful makes a much more significant impact on your weight loss success than looking healthy ever will.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
We all know the roller coaster of fad diets, but true success comes when you finally decide you deserve that which you desire. You must first realize you are worth fighting for, and your health is worth the sacrifice it takes to be better. To achieve weight loss, you have to realize that you are no longer on a journey. Instead, you are beginning to take steps into your new lifestyle. All in all, make sure your “Why” has the power to sustain you through the disappointments that come with the unavoidable moments of comparison. You got this!
