Japan lost 38 pounds. After going through some serious life challenges, including divorce and the loss of her father from cancer, she didnโt recognize herself. It was time for a serious lifestyle change. She shared with us how she did it.
I would like to tell you my story. Hopefully it can motivate and inspire others. Iโm a 41 year old mother of three (two adults and one teenager). The weight gain started with a birth control. It made me gain a lot of weight. Then, dealing with the process of a divorce, losing my father from cancer, losing my job, car and homeโฆ, all at one time, added a lot of stress weight. I looked in the mirror and did not see myself, so I decided to fix it.
It started off as a change in diet and ended up as a lifestyle. I always ate really healthy. I donโt eat red meat or pork. I donโt eat fried foods, sweets or junk food. I donโt drink soda. I take vitamins, joint supplements and iron pills, because I have an iron deficiency. I switched to turkey, chicken with no marrow, more vegetables and lots of fruits, especially green apples. I also ate yogurt peanuts, because they curve your appetite in between meals.
For exercise, I started with Insanity by Shaun T and then moved to T25 by Shaun T. Eventually, I got the workout bug, LOL. I started with lite routines and moved on to hardcore routines. I workout 6 days a week. Now, Iโm a fitness motivator (@lets.get.that.work) on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and even YouTube. I want to motivate others and let them know that we are human, not sub -human.
Life happens. It took me 2 years to feel comfortable with my body. Now, Iโm just molding it into my masterpiece, into what I always wanted it to be. If I can do it, you can do it. Remember, it didnโt happen overnight so itโs not going to go away overnight. Invest in yourself. Be patient, push through and remember youโre not in competition with anyone but the old you.
My starting weight was 198 pounds, and today I weight 160 pounds solid. I wanted to keep my curves. My transformation took about two years.
