Transformation of the Day: Janice lost 73 pounds and went from a size 18 to a size 10. She battled the weight loss roller coaster for years. In 2017, she made up her mind that she wanted the weight off for good. Doing things like walking daily and cutting back on rice and soda really paid off. Check out her story.
After gaining weight in my mid 30’s, I blew up to 262 pounds! I was totally not ok with my weight and blood pressure was extremely high! I battled with my weight going up and down from my mid 30’s until May of last year (2017). I made up in my mind that I have to be determined if I really want the weight to remain off.
I started walking daily, from 2 miles a day to 4 miles a day, depending on weather. I also cut back on rice. I went from eating rice 2 to 3 times a day to only eating rice at family gatherings or restaurants. I also cut back on soda pop as well. I use to drink 3 to 5 cans of soda each day. Yes, I know that’s a lot but I was very addicted to soda pop. Now I only drink it every 2 to 3 weeks.
I’ve gone from 262 pounds to 189 pounds. My height is 5’3″. I did not have any surgery done to lose the weight. It was pure determination on my part.
My motivation is my grandkids. I want to live a long and healthy life to see them grow up. Many times I felt like giving up but I know that if I wanted to take the weight off it was my doing! I had to continue to push myself.
I continue to drink plenty of water, walk daily, eat lots of fruits & veggies, and get plenty of rest (because the body does need rest as well). I hope and pray that my transformation can inspire others, though I am not done with my weight loss transformation. I just want to inspire others along the way to my ideal goal, which is to weigh 140 pounds.
