Transformation of the Day: Janelle lost 93 pounds with healthy food and exercise. In 2019, she decided to make herself a priority and focus on her health. While scrolling thru social media, she learned about a meal plan that ended up being a game-changer for her.
What was your motivation?
My desire to live is my motivation. 2019 was filled with so many challenges. I had problems at home, and my health became an issue. I began to suffer from high Blood pressure.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My children inspired me. I just wanted to get healthy, so I can see them grow up and live their dreams. I want to be there to cheer them along.
How did you change your eating habits?
I was browsing through Instagram one day when I saw Jasminelosingit‘s story, and I learned about the 21 Day Meal Plan. I looked back on my journey and realized how many times I have fallen off. I said to myself, “Let me try this. I have nothing to lose, but the fat.” So, I decided to give the 21 Day Meal Plan a try. I did four rounds of this plan. I was not 100% compliant, but I stuck it out, and it worked. In the first round, I lost 19 pounds, and during the second round, I lost 21 pounds. The weight kept falling off, so I kept up with the elements of the plan and incorporated them as a new lifestyle.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you work out?
Most days, I exercise twice a day for an hour each time. I would take two classes at the gym. I took a cardio class in the morning. I had Spin class on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. I would do abs on Tuesday and Friday night. Tuesday and Thursday morning, I would focus on legs. On Monday afternoon, I would do back and triceps, and on Wednesday afternoons, I will do bicep and chest resistance.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I weighed 265 pounds on January 1, 2019, and 238 pounds on August 28, 2019. My current weight is 172 pounds. My journey is still ongoing, but thus far, I have lost 93 pounds.
What is your height?
5’7″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Do it for yourself! Don’t do it for anyone else. When you do it for you, you won’t give up on you.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, it was not part of my journey, and I do not plan to have any surgeries.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
NEVER, EVER, give up on yourself! Even if everyone doubts you, find a way to change your mind-set. Take a bet on yourself and your dreams. A lot can change in 12 months if you just believe in yourself.
Be mindful
Be purposeful
Be consistent
You got this. Just start and do it at your pace.
Also, follow people who inspire you and add positive energy to your being. Let go of toxic people who keep reminding you of how many times you failed in the past. Your mind is your greatest battlefield. Channel your mind to you being able to create the life you want and start living that life.
