Iris lost 82 pounds. She refused to let depression, relationship weight, and unhappiness stop her from getting healthy. She became a Vegan, did high-intensity interval training, and incorporated intermittent fasting into her lifestyle.
Relationship weight, missed opportunities, downfalls, depression, and overall unhappiness is the picture on the left. I became a Vegan. I also started preparing my own meals, working out, and practicing intermittent fasting.
What is your motivation?
My motivation has always been my health. I hated going to the doctor because I knew they would mention my weight and how unhealthy it was for me to be that size.
How did you change your eating habits?
I became vegan and started covering my plate with lots of vegetables rather than carbs.
What was your workout routine?
I did HIIT workouts daily and walked/ran when I had the time.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
When I first started my journey, I weighed 297 pounds. My current weight is 215 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’10”.
How long did your transformation take?
I have been on a serious journey for about two years, but the weight came off in about a year.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I have learned that losing weight involves mental strength, and every day won’t be easy!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgeries, procedures, or pills.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Understand that weight loss is not a race. It will take some time. Don’t focus on the number on the scale, just do the work. Remember that you are beautiful either way. Being fit is just a bonus.

I was stuck after the loss of 2 close friends from this pandemic Depression set in and weighed me down. Your story sounded familiar and something clicked.
