Illyricum lost 118 pounds. She tried to release the weight in the past, but this time she was focused and determined to transform her lifestyle. Cutting her carbs down to less than 50 grams per day and working out six days a week are two key parts of her routine.
I am 32 years old, and I started my journey in February 2019. I weighed 294 pounds at the time. Today, I weigh 176 pounds!
I tried to lose weight at least three times before 2019. To have actually stuck with it this time was very challenging because, in the past, I was going back and forth with gaining and losing.
I started my weight loss journey with Keto. I kept my carbs under 50 grams. (No dairy, fruit, grain, pasta, bread, or processed foods) I do not eat pork, but I made that decision before my weight loss journey.
I eat vegetables (kale, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, etc.) I put craisins and almonds in with the kale when I make salads. I also use Dijon mustard. I eat eggs, turkey bacon, chicken, and seafood (any kind of meat and as much as I want).
I also started practicing intermediate fasting. I do not eat after 8 pm and continue my fast until noon the next day. I know they say breakfast is important, but this is what helped me. Currently, I’m not strictly doing Keto. I just focus on portion sizes, and I still stick to the 50g of carbs.
I started my exercise routine slowly, doing workouts I could actually get through. (from trainers like Lucy Wyndham, Keaira LaShae, and Tracy Campoli). Next, I looked for exercises that targeted specific areas of my body and incorporated them into my routine.
One week I worked my stomach and back fat (I kept the system that Lucy uses with the seven days) The next week, I focused on arms and legs/butt ( I found exercises that did both together, which is a plus). All my exercises are cardio, toning, and sculpting exercises. I do 30 minutes to an hour of work. I just purchased a weighted rope. I work out six days a week.
I still haven’t lifted any weights yet. I can walk three miles on a beautiful day. I don’t even bother with tracking the time because being away from everything is peaceful. I enjoy those walks. Sometimes I take a break, but not for too long. You can quickly lose your rhythm and motivation, and then you’ll find yourself not exercising at all. You have to push yourself!
I wanted to change my life. Feeling and visualizing the results made me want it more. You could not tell me nothing. I am so excited that I still was able to reap the beauty out of it.
With gratitude, I am here. Life is still taking me on a roller coaster. I am so proud that I did it, and it is easier to live this lifestyle now. I’ve grown and re-shaped me. I look at myself and think, “Who even knew that this was in you. “I am thankful and looking forward to what is ahead, what is to come.
