Transformation of the Day: Hannah lost 114 pounds, going from a size 32/34 pants to a size 20/22. She wanted to ensure a better life for herself and her daughter. Her daughter has lost one parent and she didn’t want her to face losing another, so she took action. Check out her story.
My weight loss journey has been amazing. I started this journey to better my life for myself and for my daughter. She has lost one parent and I didn’t want her to lose me. I’ve been on this journey since March 2016 and I’ve lost 114 pounds. (I am 5’6″.)
I made the decision to have weight loss surgery on April 18, 2016. Although some may think that it’s taking the easy way out, it’s really not. Having the gastric sleeve done brings so many restrictions. I’ve tried many things in the past to lose weight and nothing helped. This is was my last option and I have no regrets. I didn’t have any major health risk before surgery. No high blood pressure. No diabetes, but it runs in my family. I did lose some weight before my surgery. My doctor out me on a diet with special food for 21 days and I lost 14 pounds.
My eating habits had to change. No more pasta, bread or sugars. Pasta was my favorite, so letting that go was hard but worth it. I don’t drink sodas or anything with lots of sugar in it.
I also have to take in 60-100 grams of protein a day. So yes, I’m on a low carb/high protein diet. My workouts include walking, cardio and exercises for toning. I’m trying to tone up to keep from having a lot of loose skin. When I can’t make it to the gym, I do cardio at home.
I’m still not comfortable with telling my weight, but I can say that I went from 5x scrubs to 3x (that are now getting to big). I’ve gone from . I’m almost at my goal pants size which is an 18, but I haven’t reached my weight goal yet. My goal is to lose a total of 160 pounds before my 1 year surgery anniversay date.
I’m loving life and living it with no regrets. My daughter has been my biggest motivation. I’m not where I wanna be but I’m not where I used to be. I’m still working on it!

Congratulations to you for all your hard work. Many people think you have the surgery and all your problems are solved. They don’t understand you still struggle with cravings and hunger and wanting what you wanted in the past and that every moment of every day you have to choose healthy and choose life. I am preparing for surgery in May. My sister had the surgery and I see her struggle to eat well and exercise. But in the long run it’s worth it to get your life back on track. I wish you continued success and happiness for you and your daughter. Sorry for the run=on sentences.

Congratulations Hanna. Continue on your journey and don’t let anyone of the negative people deter you. Sometimes the most negative will be your closest friends because they are scared of the change.
