Transformation of the Day: Gwendolyn lost 43 pounds. She did it by drinking lots of water, eating healthy meals, and leaning into her faith. She told us that “God honors consistency.” and that you have to find joy in your journey.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for getting in shape was to get back down to my high school weight.
How did you change your eating habits? What did your workout routine consist of?
In terms of changing my eating habits, I went cold turkey with everything. I drink a gallon of water every day and have detox waters every other week. In addition, I consistently followed healthy meal plans.
I took hour-long walks after work to meditate and clear my mind. I also did little workouts after I walked, such as 40 squats and 20 jumping jacks. I danced, I twerked, CHILE I DID THE DAMN THING!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 213 pounds. My current weight is 170 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5 feet tall exactly.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on April 5th, 2021, and it continues till death!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
One of the biggest things I learned while in the race is to stay consistent. GOD HONORS CONSISTENCY!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I would not consider surgery.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
If you show God that you are serious, he will blow your mind. Also, I would encourage everyone to have joy while in the race. Even with the results show in my after photo, I still wasn’t happy. I was actually sick as a dog in the picture on the right. Weight isn’t everything. When you don’t have peace of mind, you’ll never be happy. Now I’m loving every flaw on this chocolate body. Baby, if you don’t like it, go seek help.
