Featured Weight Loss Story of the Day: Gwen lost 91 pounds. This proud mom decided that she was too young to feel out of shape and made a promise to herself that she kept. Find out what she did to lose the weight:
I am a 36 year old mother of four, I work full time and I recently finished a college degree. Needless to say, I was really busy and ate what was fast and covenant. During an office trip to New Orleans the summer of 2012, I really could not enjoy myself sightseeing with my co-workers. With all the walking we were doing, I could only think about how bad my body hurt. At the time, I was 34 years old and felt that I was way too young to be this out of shape. I had tried many times to lose weight but never really stuck with it. This time I made a promise to myself to really give it my all. So in March of 2013, I decided to cut out all fast & fried food, sodas, sweets, beef, & pork. I started eating baked chicken, fish, lots of veggies and fruit. I joined a gym and gradually worked myself up to 45 minutes of cardio and 30-45 minutes of strength training 4-5 days a week. My starting weight was a whopping 320 pounds. Now it’s March 2014 and I am currently 229 pounds. This makes my total weight loss 91 lbs. I have gone from a size 28 to a size 16/18. I still want to lose another 50-60 lbs. My advice to others is to just try for real and take it one day, one pound at a time.
