Here is her update: “I was featured earlier this year but since then I have lost about 50 more pounds and I wanted to share that with you. I continue to eat clean and work out daily. Kickboxing is my new hobby and I have burned a lot of calories. I also make sure that I have the proper water intake and stay active as possible. I’m keeping faith because this is an every day battle to live a healthy lifestyle.” Check out more about her story below.
Feb 2015 – Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Gloria aka GiGi lost 57 pounds. After years of struggling with her weight and not being happy with what she say in the mirror, she decided that it was time for a positive lifestyle change. Here is what she shared with us about her weight loss journey…
My name is Gloria. My life began about 6 months ago. That day I realized I was disgusted just by walking past a mirror. That was the day that I realized that I no longer felt beautiful but more disgusting. That is the day I knew I had to make a difference.
I’ve always struggled with my weight, even as a teenager. Not until 2014 did I become depressed because of it. My confidence was on the ground and I felt equal to trash. I thank God every single day for giving me the willpower and the strength in the courage to get up and live. It is so easy to get stuck in a depression and no longer care. This I know from personal experience, so everyday that I look back I’m overly grateful.
I’ve lost 57 pounds (5’2″ tall). My beginning weight was 297 pounds. I’m currently 240 pounds and still going. I just want everyone to know if you’re struggling with your weight there is hope. If God can do it for me, he can do it for anybody.
I got up and I changed my diet. I no longer stop by McDonald’s and Burger King every night. I remember ordering combos by the double. I ordered double because I thought I was that hungry. My diet consists of: no sugar no bread no the only meats that I will eat a baked fish and baked chicken. I began to become active, even when it hurt me and even when my legs felt like I could no longer feel them I kept going. I remember not knowing what workout to do so I just walked. In the beginning I could barely walk a half of a mile so I started out simply walking very little. I couldn’t go very far, but I now walk a mile in the morning and a mile in the evening everyday.
Please continue to follow my weight loss journey as I will continue to share with you all. I’m excited for not only me but for you too.
