Gladys lost 68 pounds. She decided it was time to focus on her health, so she made some significant changes to her eating habits and worked out five times a week. Seeing the number on the scale drop down kept her motivated to keep moving forward.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
What motivated me to lose weight was first my health. Growing up had health issues, including chest pain, long-lasting headaches, and shortness of breath.

When I would get on the scales, and the numbers were dropping. It’s good to know that you are not working in vain.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits gradually. I took out rice, and at cauliflower. I took out bread as well. Later on, I also practiced fasting. I would fast for 16-20 hours every day.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you workout?
I worked out five times a day. At the beginning of my weight loss journey, I would walk around my neighborhood for an hour. Then, I started running. From time to time I would go to the gym.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 234 pounds. My current weight is 166 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’6″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in September 2019. It took me six months to get to my goal.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned that my health is essential. If I don’t take care of it, I can be putting myself at risk. Put your mind to it, and there’s nothing you can’t do.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Put your mind into it! You can do it! Health is wealth.

No, I didn’t.
