Gladys has gone from a size 14 to a 10. This nurse no longer uses the scale to track her progress. At the beginning of her journey, she thought that she could eat whatever she wanted as long as she worked out. With time, She learned how essential healthy eating habits are for getting results.Â
I’m a nurse, and I’m 23 years old. My fitness journey started in 2019. I had a rough year where I lost friends/relationships. I decided to join a gym to help me cope with these changes. I worked out almost every day for three months without changing my eating habits. I wasn’t losing any weight (The number one weight loss mistake).
In July 2019, I joined F45 Gym. They do several workout classes, and I learned how to eat right. I found the right routine for me, and that helped me lose a lot of weight and build muscle.
I never look at the scale because I believe numbers don’t define me. However, I have lost a lot of weight, which is evidenced by my photos.
This is an ongoing transformation for me. I post daily on my Instagram to motivate others.
If I can do it, so can you. It’s a matter of finding what works for you. This is my ongoing Fitness journey. My mental health and confidence have increased so much in the last 6-7 months.
My motto: Thriving each and every day to become the best version of myself.

To lose weight, I cut out carbs. I had a low carb diet. I also cut out sugar and alcohol. I used low-fat milk and ate a lot of carrots, cucumbers, and almonds for snacks. I also ate a whole lot of vegetables.

I did F45 classes, which is group training with a mixture of cardio and strength training. On other days, I trained alone at a local gym. My goal is to work out 5-6 days a week.

What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
You can’t lose weight with exercise only. I joined the gym in February, and I worked out almost every day without any diet changes. I thought I could eat whatever I want and still lose weight as long as I exercised. However, I was wrong. I started seeing results when I changed my diet routine and combined it with my workout routine. Be consistent and have patience.Â
