Gian lost 35 pounds and several dress sizes. Endometriosis, fibromyalgia, and diabetes could not stop her. By working with a coach, she learned that nutrition is 85% of the equation when it comes to releasing the weight. Check out her story.
I have struggled with being overweight for the last thirteen years. I was diagnosed with endometriosis, fibromyalgia, and diabetes. I battled with weight loss, weight gain, and could never find anything sustainable outside of unhealthy fad diets.
I started my journey at 235 pounds in 2017. My height is 5’2″. You can imagine how I felt and how I looked. I got down to 190 pounds and decided that I could not let my weight get any higher.
I was motivated to lose weight, get off of medication, and improve my self-confidence. Suddenly, I came across someone. I didn’t know at the time, but they would change my life for the better. I found Terry Starks, a nutritionist/weight loss advocate who has inspired so many people to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. He inspired me to lose weight!
I contacted him on August 26th, 2019, and finally began the journey I had long-awaited! When I started Terry Starks‘s Program, I wore a size 14 and weighed 190 pounds. Terry gave me a special eating plan, while also letting me choose the cardio exercise I had to do for 30 minutes a day.
I stopped eating cheese and lowered my calorie intake without lots of thought. I found myself eating more fruits and veggies. I was also eating five meals a day, with no snacks in between. Dinner was always
my biggest meal, and I drank a gallon of water daily!
The great part is that my meals weren’t totally bad! I’d have oatmeal with blueberries, 4oz of orange juice, and water (breakfast example). It was quite filling. I was finally starting to feel like myself again.
My exercise routine consisted of a lot of walking. I would do DVD’s at home (one example being Leslie Sansone’s walking videos). I also used my Chuck Norris’s Total Gym machine three times a week. I made sure to exercise daily, 45 minutes in the morning, and another 45 in
the evening. In just the first week, I lost 6 pounds. Even though I wasn’t
supposed to weigh myself, I couldn’t help it.
I am now down to 155 pounds in 7 weeks and wearing a size 8-10. I am no longer taking diabetes medication!
Something I had to understand was that losing weight is 85% about
nutrition/your diet. The rest is about exercising. Yes, it is still ideal to be active, but if you’re on the right path with your food, everything else will fall into place.
To all of my empowering women out there: If you are truly serious about a healthy lifestyle and losing weight, it WILL happen. Focus on your diet and nutrition! Even if you only do 30 minutes of walking daily, that is okay! Remember, change doesn’t happen overnight, and nothing is impossible.
If you’re looking to get motivated or feel like you need that extra personal help, that is also okay! I highly recommended Terry Starks, and I bet he could change your life the same way he changed mine.
You got this. Thank you, Lord!
