Update 2020: Gabrielle lost five more pounds for a total of 120 pounds gone.
What is your current weight?
167 pounds
How have you maintained your previous weight loss and continued to lose weight?
Meal prepping and fasting have kept me in line with my goals. Now, I treat exercise as part of my daily routine, like brushing my teeth. If I don’t do work out, my husband says I’m a mini Grinch.
Of all the lessons you’ve learned on this journey, what stands out the most?
You can’t let things stop you from reaching your goals. Consistency is key. Even when you don’t see it, keep going! I just lost my second parent in 18 months, and I’m not letting it define me. It just makes me strive for more.
At this point, would you offer any new or different advice to people who want to lose weight?
Change up your exercises weekly if you feel like you’ve hit a plateau. Just have fun because it doesn’t have to be boring.

Transformation of the Day: Gabrielle lost 115 pounds. This proud mom’s wakeup call came when she could not fit into a roller coaster ride with her daughter. She transformed her eating habits and worked out 6 days a week to get these awesome results. Check out her story.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going?
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and depression. I always had mental and physical pain and was put on medicine for both. Medicine just took “the edge” off.
I was content until my daughter’s sixth birthday at the carnival. She asked me to ride the roller coaster. When I realized I couldn’t even fit on the ride I was embarrassed. One week later, I was rushed to the hospital, where I had to have emergency gallbladder removal due to poor nutrition.
Three months later. My dad passed away from an overdose. For 67 days, I drank liquor every day. For 67 days, I contemplated taking my own life. For 67 days, I thought about how I could have helped or said more.
On day 68, I realized that an addiction is an addiction, be it an addiction to drugs or food. In my case, it was food. I knew I had to get it together. I had to do better for my family. The journey started with the understanding that all my generational curses can stop with me. My family was my inspiration to keep going and stay healthy.
By working hard, following a program, and exercising, I’m happy to report that I am no longer on any medications, and I’m enjoying family outings.
How did you change your eating habits?
No fast foods, no sweets, and no liquor. I started eating lean foods, like turkey, fish, and chicken. I’m always dark greens as well. I got an online coach who helped me see what I needed to eat, as well as helping me control my portion sizes.
What did your workout routine look like?
I worked out 6 days a week with 1 day for recovery

May 15, 2018. My journey is still in progress.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No.

The importance of portion control and eating my veggies.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
