Farran lost 26 pounds this year. Her daughter turned one year old at end of 2019. She cropped herself out of photos from her birthday party because she felt so out of shape. She vowed to take action so she could confidently be in every photo at her 2nd birthday party. Joining a women-only transformation center in Houston for nutrition guidance and support made the difference.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was my daughter. She had just turned one year old on December 29, 2019. While looking through the pictures from her party, I started cropping myself out because of how out of shape I was. I vowed to be in every photo on her 2nd birthday.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My boyfriend (my support system) knew how important this was for me and would never let me talk myself out of it.
How did you change your eating habits?
Well, I joined Reggie C Fitness, and they give you a meal plan to follow. The plan is mostly fish, veggies, and small amounts of carbs – No sugar and lots of water. WATER was the biggest challenge for me. I never knew how important it was on a weight loss journey.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I did lots of cardio, treadmill sprints, cycling classes, and full-body workouts to lose body fat. I took small group classes to tone specific muscle groups. I loved Jiggarobics at Reggie C Fitness. It was a fun atmosphere with working out and sweating.
How often did you work out?
I would work out for 4 hours on my days off at RCF Bootcamp classes and small groups. I did 2 hours on the days I worked. I tried to never workout on Sundays to give my body a day of rest and to recharge.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 154 pounds, and my current weight is 128 pounds.
What is your height?
5’2″
When did you start your journey?
I started on January 6, 2020, with the Reggie C Fitness 90 Challenge.
How long did your transformation take?
We were only able to complete 60 days due to the pandemic stopping the challenge. Sixty days in, I weighed 134 pounds. Since then, I have been working out from home with Reggie C Fitness’s Zoom boot camps. From Jan – July (7 months), I’ve lost 26 pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? No, not yet. I have given myself a full year to get this baby weight off and the “mom pouch” to go away. So far, so good.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that being healthy is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical challenge.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Have a good support system. Get at least one to two people that you can sit down and explain how important this is for you so they can be there for you when you can’t be there for yourself.
