Update: Esther lost 29 more pounds for a total of 35kg/77 pounds gone.
Transformation of the Day: Esther lost 48.5 pounds. Our Nigerian sista’s transformation started when she switched focus from trying to be a particular size and focused on being happier and healthier. She shared how she took action.
Starting weight: 112kg on Nov 22, 2015 (246.9 pounds)
Current weight: 90kg (198.4)
Target weight: 80kg
Height: 5 ft 5 inches
It was all about my size. In the past, I have been abused, shamed and embarrassed because of my old figure and weight. I felt dejected and reluctant to wear fine clothes, especially the body conscious dresses that I admire so much on other ladies.
I had failed relationships because of my old size, and it seemed like I was just all alone, but one day I woke up. I woke up to the fact that changing my life is not just about being a certain size this time around. It’s really about improving my whole life at large by staying healthy.
I began working out and eating clean. I took action with all sincerity and truthfulness towards my self. My goal was not to please anyone else. I was 100% ready to be happy within and all around.
I started over again with a new, healthy lifestyle by eating good, healthy food and drinks. I stopped eating unhealthy foods like white rice, white bread, sugary foods, unhealthy fries and unhealthy pastries. I also stopped drinking regular coke, other sodas and diet coke. That means I ate healthy things, like smoothies, brown rice, wheat bread, whole grains and high fiber foods.
I workout and exercise everyday of the week. I lift weights, jog, skip, trek (hiking) and do cardio training. For the most part, I did this all alone and worked out at home a lot. No gym at all!
I am very happy so far. I braced up to knowing I could do it. Here I am, still working toward my goals. Now, all of my “runaway” friends are aspiring to re-enroll and connect with me. When I say ” friends”, you know the people I mean.
My advice is that weight loss can be achieved with 100 percent consistency. No looking back and no compromising. If you are consistent with healthy habits, you will see the pounds roll off of your body and you will be happy and healthy.
