What was your motivation?
After going through a very dark season in my life, I gained so much weight. I lost myself and found myself weighing 298 pounds. I remember literally busting out of my scrubs and crying. I knew I had to change.
When did you start your weight loss journey?
I started my weight loss journey in June 2018. I started doing the Keto diet and exercising 4-5 times a week. I have not turned back since. I’ve managed to lose over 120 pounds.
My journey to get here has been a roller coaster ride of trials, many errors, and a collection of small milestones along the way, eventually leading to more than I ever expected to gain. I feel better than ever before with more energy and vibrancy.
Since overcoming obesity, I now feel reborn, and I am empowered around my own weight loss. I have gained greater strength and fitness. I feel stronger and healthier, and I know that I am in charge of my own body and my well-being.
Did you count carbs/calories when you started the Keto diet?
I started counting my macros on My Fitness Pal. I stayed under 20g carbs, 50g fats, and 30g protein per day.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I did weight lifting. I added cardio the second year, and I began to run 5ks.
What is your current weight?
I currently weigh 176 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is consistency is key. That means staying consistent even when you don’t see the results you want or that you think you should see.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to women is to learn to love yourself through every stage of the process. Self-love is the key that unlocks your inner strength to keep going and growing.
