When did you start your weight loss journey?
I began my first weight loss journey in June 2016- December 2016. I lost 20kg in 6 months. Then I maintained it fairly well, but I lost track in 2022. I started my second journey on October 23rd, 2022.
What inspired you to get started?
My weight loss was inspired by a wanting to be healthy, feel good and just be at my best.
How did you change your eating habits?
I kickstarted my journey with intermittent fasting with an 18:6 strategy where my eating window was between 6 pm and 12 am every day.
WEIGHT LOSS starts with FOOD! I found I was able to eat far less than I used to. Also, I was more interested in staying fuller while maintaining a caloric deficit, SO I automatically switched to a more healthy protein and plant-based diet.
What is your workout routine?
Generally, I just keep a mindful eating routine without really bothering to work out. I knew jumping in on working out while doing intermittent fasting could drop my motivation.
Starting weight/Current weight
I began at 180 pounds (5’6″ tall), and I’m currently at 160 pounds in 6 weeks. That’s 20 pounds lost in 1.5 months!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have weight loss surgery. I lost the weight naturally lost through intermittent fasting.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that weight loss can be physically and emotionally draining at certain moments, but YOUR WHY should carry you past those moments.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
If you’re a lady like me who desires to shed some pounds, here’s my 2 cents: find what you can honestly stick to and go with it. There are tons of weight loss methods out there! Do your research and do what you can sustain for months without feeling drained. Motivation is everything in this marathon.
