Transformation of the Day: Emily lost 48 pounds. After giving birth, she faced depression and lack of confidence. She shed the baby weight and has kept it off for 3 years by working out at home and letting go of unhealthy eating habits. Check out her journey.
My journey started 4 years ago after giving birth via C-section. I was depressed and lost confidence in my body. I weighed 86kg/189 pounds at the time. My current weight is 64kgs/141 pounds have maintained my transformation for the past 3 years, with slight
fluctuations here and there.
When I started this weight loss journey, my main goal was to look my best physically. However, 4 years into this journey I realize that good physical looks are like icing on the cake. There are intrinsic benefits to exercising and being fit. All you need to do is start your journey to experience it all.
I embarked on a complete overhaul of the foods I was eating. I cut out processed foods and fatty meat. I ate whole grains, legumes, fruit and vegetables. I share some of my on my instagram.
I started exercising by taking long walks. Then is progressed to home workout videos from Jillian Michaels and Shaun T ‘s 60 day Insanity program. With Insanity, I lost most of pregnancy weight (approx 12kgs/26 pounds) during the 60 day program.
I’m no longer obsessed with weighing myself. Instead, I’m now focused on feeling good
on the inside after a good workout and after challenging my body in different ways. Exercise helps me cope with everyday life. I’ve incorporated weight lifting and jogging into my exercise routine 3-4times a week. This helps me build muscle and maintain my curves. As we grow older, it is important to maintain bone density. Exercise also helps delay sagging in certain areas of your body .
I am honored to be able to inspire more people to be fit and healthy and reap the intrinsic and extrinsic benefits. Lets inspire each other to embrace positive living.
