Elizabeth lost 31 pounds by being more mindful of what she eats and staying active. She is motivated by a desire to be a healthy mom to her future kids and live a long life. Her relationship with food has gotten better, and she enjoys working out at home.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is my future kids. I want to make sure I can have kids and be healthy enough to be alive as long as I can with them.
How did you change your eating habits?
When it came to my eating habits, I started by switching from juice to flavored water and from white rice and pasta to cauliflower and brown rice. Small adjustments, like those, really helped get me to stay motivated. Now, I’m on a completely low carb/no carb journey, which I started two weeks ago. I’ve already lost 10 pounds.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I also love staying active. I work out about 3-5 days a week just by using YouTube and my TV. I used to have a gym membership, but now I enjoy working out at home with friends on FaceTime.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My start weight was 355 pounds, and I currently weigh 324 pounds. My goal weight is 180 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson so far is that food isn’t bad! I’ve learned to eat a cheeseburger burger if I want to. I’ve learned not to consider things as a “cheat” or think that I have to work out harder because of a meal. My relationship with food has gotten so much healthier.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Just jump in and start where you can! Don’t wait for next Monday, the next month, or next year. Just do it! Every second trying is making for a better tomorrow.
