Hi,
I have a couple of questions. Is the ebook sent in an email and if so will I be able to open it from various computers. I presume I have to download it also.
Also, do the smoothies well meaning if I make one for breakfast(a large batch) will it be okay for lunch. I teach and we eat lunch late(at least to me) at 1pm. I would probably eat breakfast around 730-800am.
Last one, are you allowed snacks(pieces of fruit) in between or do you just consume the smoothie until the one meal? Thank you.

Yes, Most smoothies will keep in the fridge for 24 hours. You could keep them longer, but I find that the taste changes unless you have them in a sealed container like a mason jar. You could make 48 oz in the morning and have 24 for breakfast and 24 for lunch. You’ll definitely want to have snacks like fruit in addition to meals and smoothies as you see fit.

I just bought the original bullet for the smoothie. Can anyone tell me if this will work or is it mainly a blender. There is a nutribullet specifically for smoothies but the original seems to do more.

You can use the original bullet for smoothies, sure. I think the Nutribullet is just better for a few ingredients and for grinding things as a food processor.

I’m ready for the challenge, may I say that the Vita Mix blender is the best on the market in my opinion, the motor in that thing is amazing. I’ve been thinking about using green smoothies but I’m kind of afraid b/c I’m assuming the taste is not very desirable. Please correct me if I am wrong but does these smoothies actually taste good or is it one of those things you do to lose weight. My fear is that I will not be able to keep it up because of the taste. I’ve lost 40 pounds but I refuse to give up taste to lose weight, I’ve found very flavorful healthy recipes to keep me going so I don’t want to invest in green smoothies and regret because of the taste. I also ask because from what I’ve read it says they are great recipes but no reference to being tasteful.

Hi Tai, do you drink smoothies from places like Jamba juice or from the store (Naked juice for example). Green smoothies taste like fruit smoothies, just a bit different. I’d say that for the most part, you won’t taste the greens if you have banana or blueberry in the smoothie.

Hi Tete, the book is only available as a PDF download right now. You can view it via Adobe Reader on your computer (and most tablets because there is a free Adobe Reader app). It will be available for Kindle and Nook very soon. No paper copies right now, but I’m going to try to make those available in Feb.

I have a question about the weight loss. I will buy the book but, curios to the amount of weight that can be loss in a month of drinking the smoothies.

Rossilyn, Like all eating plans and changes in diet, it depends on how much weight you have to lose and your current health. For most people in good health (no chronic health issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, etc) I would estimate 3-7 pounds in a month. You could lose more, but that depends on how clean your diet is and how much you exercise. Also, you could lose No pounds just like on other plans, but I would suspect that the rest of your diet would have to be a lot of processed food, sugar, excess fat, etc. You have to eat right and drink smoothies…a bad diet won’t help at all.

Hi Ann, I don’t have substitutions listed in the book. My advice would be that you can switch out those fruits for mangos, pears, apples, avocado, etc. It all depends on what tastes good to you. You may want to try some free recipes online just to decide if you like the taste.

I’m interested in downloading your green smoothie book however I want to know if I have to purchase a specific blender to make the smoothies? I’m going to purchase the Hamilton Beach personal blender (the price fits into my current budget) and I wanted to know if I can make the smoothies you have in the book with that type of blender.

Some blenders do a better job of cutting up greens than others. I believe that you can make the smoothies in that blender, but if you want to be absolutely sure here is a recipe:
2 bananas
1 cup frozen berries
2 handfuls of spinach or kale.
1/2 cup water (more if you want it less thick)
If your blender doesn’t do a good job of blending greens, then you can omit them and still get nutritional benefit.

In preparing for a total body detox, juicing and preparing green smoothies do you not feel an appliance stronger than a blender would be needed? Perhaps the green smoothies would be okay for blender and a stronger appliance for juicing.

My constant battle is craving sweets. I weigh over 200 lbs. and would like to join your clean eating or green smoothies challenge, but I don’t know how to get started. Hi Nadine, This month we are doing a food journaling challenge, but you can do a search in the search box for clean eating and green smoothies for all the past info and recipes. I’m posting a 4 week clean eating meal plan this month for free so check that out for guidance as well. I suggest you focus on cleaning up your eating (no fast food, no junk food, no soda, no highly processed food. Get lots of water) and do CARDIO as much as possible. Then you can add strength training when you’re ready.

Just a heads up to everyone, making your own smoothies or juices at home is best unless you go to a juice bar like the one at Whole Foods. You always want control or knowledge over what goes in your body. Naked is being hit with a class action lawsuit for lying about having all natural ingredients. Their drinks were found to have a chemical that is also found in formaldehyde. Google it and you will see. We are fortunate to have people like Ajima that can provide us tips and recipes in our journeys to good help.

Hi Ann, I just want to be clear. Do you mean how do you make meal replacement shakes out of the green smoothies? You can add almond milk, protein powder, oatmeal, soy milk, chia seeds, fiber powder and fat (avocado, coconut oil) to make smoothies more of a meal.
