Weight Loss Story of the Day: Ebony lost 52 pounds over the course of a year. She was inspired by the weight loss success stories of others. With health eating, calorie counting and regular exercise she was able to change her lifestyle and lose the pounds. Here is what she shared with us about her journey…
My name is Ebony. It took motivational stories from other people who were losing or that had lost weight, eating better, smaller portions and exercising for 45-60 mins, 3-5 days a week for me to lose the weight. I’ve lost 52 pounds from May 11 2014 to May 11, 2015! No pills, no surgeries, no fad diets, no BS!!
On Mother’s Day 2014, I saw a picture of me and that was my inspiration. Originally, I just wanted to get under 200 pounds (it was hard). I stopped eating fast food and going out for lunch. I had to start cooking all of my meals. I watched my portion sizes and I counted calories with the app My Fitness Pal. Once I got down to 200 pounds, I started exercising (walking and jogging). I exercised for 30 minutes a day, twice a week and then I increased 45 minutes for three times a week. Now I am working out 60 minutes at a time, 4 to 5 times a week.
I have lost a total of 52 pounds. I am 5’6. Starting out at 232 pounds, I now weigh 180 pounds. I am determined to lose 30 more pounds so Stay tuned! My advice for others who want to lose weight would be to stay focused and read other people’s success stories for motivation and ideas. It is very hard in the beginning but I guarantee that if you give it time and stay confident the weight will come off. Try the My Fitness Pal app for calorie counting. Also, don’t forget to drink lots of water.
