Update 2017 – Ebony is still going strong and showing us that you can get rid of the back fat.
Update Dec 2016 – Ebony lost 20 more pounds for a total of 62 pounds gone.
I’ve gone on to lose another 20 pounds by switching up my workout routine and my nutrition plan! As a Health Coach, I have access to many home based workout plans and nutrition plans that have allowed me to keep from plateauing! I started a program that incorporated more weight resistance and Plyo workouts! I also incorporated a few practices from carb cycling! Working out from home helps me because I have a toddler. I’m a mother and I also have a full time demanding career! After being such a quitter, having accountability and support has made such a huge difference! Now it’s a blessing being able to help other busy mommas like me reach their health & fitness goals. I remember I stared at transformation photos thinking it was for ‘them’ or ‘other people’… I never thought I’d have my own transformation story. One day I found a Coach who helped me start working on ME! And now I give that gift to others… ANYONE can have a transformation story! It’s for all of us!
Great Transformation: Ebony lost 42 pounds. She told us that she used to be a serial quitter who never stuck with a plan. Now she has found a weight loss plan that she is using to create a new lifestyle and helping others to do the same. Check out what she shared with us.
Hi! My name is Ebony and I started my weight loss journey on June 1, 2015. I was a serial quitter in that I could never stick with anything. I partnered with a Health and Fitness Coach. I found a home based workout program that gave me a workout regimen and taught me how to eat.
I workout 5-7 days a week for 30 minutes a day that include cardio, strength training, Plyo, and yoga! All my workouts are done from home.
I use portion control and stick to clean foods. I cut out all fried foods and processed foods. I use color coded portion control containers to manage my portions. It was very important to me to adapt find a nutrition plan that could help me create a lifestyle change. I still eat bread, pasta, and chocolate! I have switched from white to whole grain! I eat lean meats, veggies, and fruit. Meal prep is my saving grace! It keeps me on track!
I started at 198 lbs and now I am 156 lbs. I am 5’2” tall. I’m down 42 pounds and can’t wait to see what the new year holds! I was inspired by my best friend who lives a healthy lifestyle, by stories you feature and by other success stories I see on Instagram. I’ve changed my lifestyle and I’m never going back!
My advice to anyone looking to lose weight is to find a plan that you can adapt to your lifestyle. I tried going to the gym, but I ended up with too many reasons why I couldn’t make it (nobody to watch my son, working too late, etc). Working out from home took away my excuses. Find a nutrition plan you can do forever. It was important to me to be able to still eat carbs, so I focused on healthier carbs. Lastly, find a support system! I joined a challenge group and had a Coach who helped me stay on track and now I am a Health and Fitness Coach too! I offer support and encouragement through my support groups! Celebrate your non scale victories and stay dedicated & consistent. Many quit due to slow progress, not realizing slow progress IS progress!

Slow progress is indeed progress. I started eating clean for about 9 days and take walks round my neighborhood. I observed my belly area flattening already; dress and skirts coming off -but on the scale I’ve just lost 1kg! Lol
I’ll keep at it until. Its a lifestyle change. In Nigeria, nearly all our staples are carbs so you have to work hard to plan your meal. Portion control helps a lot and I enjoy my smoothies better now. Taking the right fruits and veggies is key to feeling full 247 and full of energy too! Welldone ladies.
