Transformation of the Day: Earnestine lost 47 pounds. She began her journey while studying to become a Registered Dietitian because she wanted to be a healthy example for her future clients. Ultimately a plant-based lifestyle paired with lots of exercise turned out to be a winning combination for her.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was the idea that I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin. Also, I was on my way to becoming a Registered Dietitian. I knew that if I wanted to help people become healthier, I had to do the same for myself.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started losing weight by doing a Raw Vegan diet for 30 days. After seeing the improvements in my weight, energy, hair, and skin, I decided to convert to plant-based 100% of the time. Also, when I tried to eat animal products again, I continuously got sick, my face broke out, and I felt sluggish 24/7.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I started off doing Camp Gladiator, which is online group fitness that intertwined weights and cardio. I aimed to work out 4-5 days per week. I also set goals on my Apple Watch to give me motivation.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 250 pounds, and I currently weigh 203 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’7”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in January 2020. I was consistent for about seven months straight, with the other five being on and off.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned has been appreciating the non-scale wins such as losing inches, more energy, clothes fitting different, enjoying weight training, etc.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to adopt a healthy lifestyle first. Learn how to live a life with balance on your plate, and the weight will follow.
