Transformation of the Day: Dye lost 45 pounds postpartum. We’ve featured her story before, and now she’s giving us an update on her journey after giving birth to her second child. She’s a health coach, so she put her knowledge of clean keto to work. #fitover40
Hello, my name is Dye Unique. I am a 42-year mom of two under four. What motivated me to lose weight was being an older mom and being told it would be hard for me to lose weight at my age.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Two things that inspired me were the desire to look even better after childbirth (hot mama) and to also be healthy for my son. I got so healthy after having my son that boom, two years later, I got pregnant after losing all my weight.
How did you change your eating habits?
I initially lost weight by doing a clean keto diet. I completely cut out sugar and began to eat clean. I only ate organic proteins and healthy fats. Once I got pregnant last year, I continued to eat whole foods and clean keto.
I fell so much in love with the lifestyle that I later became a certified keto coach through keto guru Dr. Berg. I now help others to lose weight by offering several weight loss programs.
What is your workout routine?
I lost the majority of my weight without working out. However, to tone, I have begun doing moderate cardio workouts three times a week for at least 30 minutes. I worked out until I was eight months pregnant. I was determined to stay healthy throughout my pregnancy.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight after 1st pregnancy was 210 pounds. I lost almost 65 pounds and was down to 155 pounds. Then I gained 55 pounds (205lbs ) last year during pregnancy #2. I lost 45 within three months postpartum. Currently, I’m five months postpartum and weigh 171 pounds.
What is your height?
5’5″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey in July 2020. I lost weight and kept it off for one year until I got pregnant again. Thanks to practicing a ketogenic lifestyle, I was able to bounce back pretty fast. However, I lost the most weight with keto within the last 60 days.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
That it just takes the mindset to do it. Once you decide to do it, nothing and no one can stop you.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
START and set small goals. Plan out your meals and get coaching if necessary. Also, don’t let anyone tell you that your age or having children will stop you from losing weight.
