Transformation of the Day: Dr. Sheneka lost 41 pounds. Last year, she was diagnosed with hypertension. Her doctor said that she could come off medication if she released the weight. With intermittent fasting, healthier eating habits and cardio, she has taken her health back. Check out her story.
After having my youngest son in 2007, I struggled with losing the baby weight. During my pregnancy, I gained over 70+ pounds, and I became obese, weighing 238 pounds. Over the years, I would try different fad diets, but nothing worked. I would lose some weight just to put it back on, so I remained 238lbs for years.
In the summer of 2018, I was diagnosed with hypertension. I was devastated because I was only 38 years old, and I just lost my father a year earlier. My doctor challenged me to lose the weight, and if I did, she would pull me off the medication.
Eating Habits and Exercise: As I watched YouTube, I came across a YouTube channel called “Fledge Fitness,” which promoted intermittent fasting. I decided to do the 16:8 method and the weight began to fall off. I lost almost 8 lbs in my first week!
Along with IF, I changed my eating habits by reducing the amount of carbohydrates I consumed. I would only eat carbs 1-2 times in the week along with my meals. I’m addition, I eliminated snacking!
I also did cardio on the treadmill 2-3 times a week for 60-80 minutes.
Results: I have lost a total of 41 pounds due to intermittent fasting and changing my diet. I went from 238 pounds to 197 pounds! (I am 5’5” .) I fast during the week and enjoy my weekends!
Biggest Lesson: The biggest lesson I learned is consistency is the key.
Advice: My advice to women is to stay consistent, even if you mess up. Always remember that you can start again. In addition, my advice would be to find friends, a support group, or social media pages that would keep you motivated. Moreover, remember your “Why.” It will help you to stay focused on your weight loss journey.
I just want to encourage someone and let them know that it’s possible!

Very inspiring, I can’t seem to get out of this plateau between 238 and 248. Now my knees are really bothering me. I know it’s the weight, I agree that IF is the bomb, I did that and was dropping but stress and eating wrong has taken me backwards. Doing something for me Monday, thanks for sharing your story.
