Dr. Kimberly Nelms Smarr lost 18 pounds. She was dissatisfied with the way she looked and wanted to make a change. By working with a weight loss coach, this Sigma Gamma Rho soror got the guidance and support she needed.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation for beginning a life change with Terry Starks’s Transformation Program came from my dissatisfaction with my weight and my look. I became displeased with my stomach pouch and wanted to make a change.
During times of wanting to give up, my encouragement came from Terry’s daily motivations and devotionals. Having his support gave me a “push” when I needed it.
How did you change your eating habits?
Terry created a healthy weekly meal plan that enabled me to lose weight and promote healthy eating. Honestly, prior to being on the program, I had to have my weekly Dr. Pepper, cakes, and chips.
The meal plan included flax oil, vegetables, fruits, vegan bacon, vegan patties, and rice cakes. Because I am a vegan, my meal plan did not include meat. It may sound unappealing, but the vegan bacon was my favorite!
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
Terry Starks created my workout routine. My preferred workout routine includes using an elliptical and walking in the neighborhood. I began by doing 30 minutes of cardio once a day, every day. Then, he increased it to 30 minutes of cardio twice a day, every day. It got tough, but with Terry’s help, it became “second nature.” Now my body craves the 30 minutes twice a day routine.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 190 pounds, and my current weight is 172 pounds.

I started in June 2020. Terry Starks’s Transformation Program is a 35-day plan.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson learned is how to commit to my transformation. There were times when I wanted to quit, but I was reminded of my commitment to healthy eating and looking great.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice to women who want to lose weight is to call Terry Starks now. I hope that my testimonial inspires other women to love themselves enough to make a change!
