Dorothy lost 34 pounds. She was tired of the weight loss roller coaster, so she focused on nutrition, tracked her meals with MyFitnessPal, and worked out 5-6 days a week. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I was my own motivation! I was tired of being on a weight loss/weight gain roller coaster. When I wanted to give up, I thought about how far I’ve come!
How did you change your eating habits?
I started meal prepping more often and used MyFitnessPal to track my calories. I also stopped eating out as much, but I still eat the foods I enjoy in moderation.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I workout 5-6 days a week. My workouts mainly consist of weightlifting and cardio.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 200 pounds, and my current weight is 166 pounds. My height is 5’5”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ve always tried to lose weight, but my most recent journey started in January 2018. Most of the weight was dropped from about April until now because I cleaned up my diet a little more.
What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned?
Don’t compare yourself to anyone! Be patient and consistent!
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Just start! It will be a challenge, but it’s worth it. If you’re not comfortable working out, start with nutrition. Nutrition is the most crucial factor anyway!
